Faith Promise
A promise, made in faith, trusting God will provide
In response to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), and in recognising the need for missions to reach those who live in a cultural setting different from our own, our church supports various missions organisations. We support them financially through our special Faith Promise giving. This is giving separate and above our regular tithing, set aside specifically for supporting missionaries and organisations who are taking the gospel locally, nationally, and abroad.
Every year, we dedicate our June services to highlighting missions, and invite guests from organisations we are connected with to come and share about the work they are involved with and to speak a message from God’s word for us.
This year, our theme is “More Like Jesus”. Throughout this series (put together by Baptist Mission Australia), our Faith Promise Guest Speakers will look into passages from Mark and explore how we can all become more like Jesus. In our church, our neighbourhood and our world… we want to see more people living, loving and leading like Jesus!
At the end of the month, we make a commitment to giving towards Faith Promise for the coming financial year. And we celebrate with a special luncheon. This year, we will be having soup and chowder.

Who we are supporting
Baptist Mission Australia
We currently support BMA in a general way. Previously we supported the Good family, however they have since finished their work and returned to Australia, and we transferred that support to EDM. We are looking to support another BMA missionary enterprise in the near future.
Baptist World Aid
Through BWAA we respond to international disasters, as well as a regular contribution. In the last 18 months we contributed to Afghan ($2500) and Myanmar ($2000) earthquake relief for humanitarian assistance from our Faith Promise reserves, as well as a contribution to the Ukraine relief fund.
Every Daughter Matters
Our support helps fund a booth intervening and rescuing women being trafficked across the Nepal/India border. This support includes funds raised by recycling cans through Containers 4 Change.
OM - Khalil and Nazira
We give support to Khalil and Nazira who provide culturally relevant gospel media (TV, videos, radio, and social media) into Afghanistan and surrounding countries with many positive responses.
Wycliffe Bible Translators
We are supporting David & Ming Fang Strickland translating the Bible for marginalised communities in languages they understand best. They are based in Alice Springs and work with several remote Aboriginal communities, also training others in translating the Scriptures.
YouthCARE
We contribute funding to YouthCARE for Chaplaincy in our local schools. Including Adrian Harrison at Curtin Primary School, and Meng Chan at Como Primary School.
Emergency Relief Fund
A new initiative of Faith Promise. As a component of our Reserves Fund, this relief fund enables us to give support to people in our local community who are in immediate need.
