Faith Promise

A promise, made in faith, trusting God will provide

In response to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), and in recognising the need for missions to reach those who live in a cultural setting different from our own, our church supports various missions organisations. We support them financially through our special Faith Promise giving. This is giving separate and above our regular tithing, set aside specifically for supporting missionaries and organisations who are taking the gospel locally, nationally, and abroad.

The name Faith Promise helps us remember our missions giving is more than just a fundraising goal. It is an act of prayerful trust. We invite everyone in our church to ask God what he may be calling us to give over the coming year, we make a commitment in faith, and then we trust him to provide through the year so that we can give toward his mission.

Every year, we dedicate our June services to highlighting missions, and invite guests from organisations we are connected with to come and share about the work they are involved with and to speak a message from God’s word for us.

Who we are supporting

1

Baptist Mission Australia - Nick and Carrissa Tan

We are starting support for Nick and Carrissa who are preparing for ministry in Thailand. Their work will involve building relationships, learning culture and language, and sharing the good news of Jesus in faithful and meaningful ways. Baptist Mission Australia’s approach to mission is deeply relational, coming alongside local communities as listeners, learners, and witnesses to Christ’s love.

2

Baptist World Aid

Baptist World Aid Australia works with local Christian partners to help vulnerable communities address poverty, disaster, hunger, and injustice. Through long-term development, emergency response, and practical support, they seek to help people and communities flourish. Our Faith Promise giving supports their “Where It’s Needed Most” fund, allowing Baptist World Aid to respond where needs are greatest. Recently we have also contributed to earthquake and humanitarian relief appeals from our Faith Promise reserves.

3

Every Daughter Matters

Every Daughter Matters works to prevent the trafficking of Nepali girls and young women. Through trusted local partners in Nepal, they help intercept vulnerable girls at the border before they are trafficked into exploitation. Their work also includes emergency shelters, safe homes, education, and long-term empowerment, helping girls and young women move toward safety, dignity, and hope. Our support helps fund a booth intervening and rescuing women being trafficked across the Nepal/India border. This support includes funds raised by recycling cans through Containers 4 Change.

4

OM - Khalil and Nazira and Aryan

Khalil and Nazira serve with OM, creating radio, television, video, and media resources that share the good news of Jesus with Afghan people. In places where open Christian witness can be difficult or dangerous, media can reach people privately and meaningfully. We are also beginning to support Aryan, who serves alongside his parents in this gospel ministry.

6

YouthCARE

YouthCARE provides chaplains in Western Australian schools, offering pastoral care and support to students, staff, and families. Chaplains help strengthen the wellbeing of school communities through listening, encouragement, practical care, and connection. Through Faith Promise, we help support chaplains serving in our local primary schools and caring for children and families in our wider community.

First Nations Leaders Development Fund

The Baptist Mission Australia First Nations Leadership Development Fund supports the development of emerging First Nations Christian leaders. The fund helps provide accessible leadership training while honouring the voices, gifts, and wisdom of First Nations elders and leaders. This work strengthens discipleship, leadership, and mission among First Nations followers of Jesus in Australia.
